Glassware, Dishes and Crockery

Updated: Jun 6, 2019

In order to kill two birds with one stone it is a good idea to store your plates and glasses nested within each other but also wrapped in tea towels and other linen items.  This solves the problem of packing your soft items with your breakables.

While newspaper is often the first go-to sometimes it can stain your goods from the ink! Packing paper is ideal. Try to avoid have any gaps within the box to ensure nothing can move around and break. Make sure you label the boxes clearly so movers know to be more gentle!

Glasses:

Wrap and, most importantly, tape the glass in crumpled newspaper, a plastic grocery bag, or bubble wrap. Find a sturdy cardboard box that is big enough to allow 2 - 3 inches of clearance ON ALL SIDES. Make a nest for the glass in the centre of the box.
